| Washing Machine
In 2001, the washing machine celebrated its 100th anniversary. Back in
1901, Miele built their first wooden-tub washer and,
in doing so, took a decisive step in the history of domestic appliances.
Throughout the years, Miele have led the way
in laundry technology. They were the first to launch a washing machine
with electronic controls, the first to invent updateable machines and
the first to include a handwash program on washing machines. One of the
latest Miele innovations is a delicates
and silk program that will save even more valuable
time formerly spent on washing by hand.
Miele's brand new FabriCare wash system, incorporating
the innovative honeycomb drum again takes laundry care
to a new level. Fewer, and smaller holes situated at the lowest points
of the drum where three hexagons meet, results
in the following benefits:
1. A thin film of water cushions the garments from the drum.
This reduces breakage of indivudual fibers and piling
on delicate items.
2. After spinning, laundry is easier to remove from the machine,
as the smoothness of the drum prevents the garments
from "sticking" to it.
3. Mechanical strain on the laundry during spinning is reduced.
The honeycomb drum does not leave a pattern on the laundry.
4. Higher spin speeds even for delicate items are now made possible"

Single program selector switch
The single program selector switch with integrated temperature selection
is extremely easy to use. Every program has a choice
of appropriate temperatures,
so there is no danger of making
a mistake. |
Novotronic controls
All Miele washing machines
have fully electronic controls.
These have no moving parts,
which means much less wear
and tear to the machine and
a very wide choice of intelligent programs. |

Automatic foam sensing
Should over foaming occur in the drum, the motor automatically reduces
the drum rhythm, enabling the foam to subside. Once this
has happened, the original drum rhythm is restored and an extra rinse
cycle is brought into the program. This means that good wash results
are always achieved. |
Time and energy savings
Shorter program running times together with the new improved rinsing
technology means you need less water than before and can wash a full
load with only 45 liters of water. And because the residual moisture
level after spinning is very low- just 43% - you save both time and
electricity costs when drying. |

Ball valve
The machine will calculate
and the display will indicate how much detergent you need to use.
A self activating ball valve also saves on detergent. During
the wash cycle the floating ball presses itself tightly against the
outlet of the suds container to prevent the detergent from escaping
into the sump.
The detergent remains in the suds container, so you use less
and the environment has to cope
with less pollution. |
New drum lighting
Thanks to a halogen light, the drum interior is evenly and well lit.
Pressing any button on the control panel automatically switches the
drum lighting on. This makes loading and unloading easier and its nearly impossible to forget a garment inside the washing machine. The light switches off automatically
once the program start so you dont waste electricity. |

Hydromatic system
All Miele washing machines work
on the Hydromatic system where specially designed drum ribs with fins
scoop up the water ad carry it to the top of the drum, before releasing
it onto the laundry from above, ensuring efficient soaking. This means
that you use very little water - only 45 liters on the top of the
range models. |
Spin speeds of up to 1800 rpm
Depending on model, Miele washing machines offer a choice of spin
speeds up to 1800 rpm. A gradual run up to spin and an imbalance check
ensure that your laundry
is handled as gently as possible. There is also a top limit to the
spin
speed for various prorammes
to prevent fabrics from being
spun at an inappropriate speed. |

Woollens handcare
This is not a drying programme.
It is designed to fluff up the fibers
and is the ideal complement
to the Handwash Woollen
programme on the washing
machines. |
Stronger outer body
Miele's vitreous Direct Enamel
coating provides the machine
with a high impact resistance against chipping anf flaking, so it
will always keep its good looks. |

Anti-crease action
At the end of the drying programme, the drum continues to turn intermittently
for up to an hour
to prevent the washing from setting
into creases and folds. |
