Louis Poulsen Lights Up the K-Drama Scene

The Korean culture phenomenon has taken the world by storm. From music, movies, to TV shows – the Hallyu wave has everyone sitting at the edge of their seats, excitedly anticipating everything that vibrant South Korea has to offer.

But aside from talented idols, stunning actors, and captivating storylines, another thing that’s hard to miss in these Korean shows and dramas are the exceptional interiors and set designs. Korean-style interiors combine modern minimalist aesthetics with touches of traditional craftsmanship, a unique convergence that is especially evident in K-Dramas that are set in luxurious homes and offices.

It comes as no surprise that we find some Louis Poulsen icons in these scenes, further amplifying the main character’s stunning home interiors and their unique design choices.

Hometown Cha Cha Cha

In the pilot episode of hit k-drama series, Hometown Cha Cha Cha, viewers are given a glimpse into the lush city life of female protagonist Yoon Hye-Jin before she packs up and moves to the idyllic seaside town of Gongjin.

Hye-Jin’s Seoul apartment features Øivind Slaatto’s Patera Pendant – a perfect statement piece for the ambitious dentist’s chic space. The Patera’s dynamic form offers a soft yet glowing focal point in the character’s dining area, truly a sight to behold from any and all angles.

Our Beloved Summer

A trip to Seoul is not complete without a visit to one of its many cozy cafes and restaurants. Even in the first episode of the romcom series, Our Beloved Summer, we see star student turned PR expert, Kook Yeon-soo, meet up with a blind date in a restaurant that showcases not one but two Panthella Table lamps that truly set the mood for a romantic evening. To top off the cozy atmosphere, PH 3/2 Wall lamps adorn the interiors of the restaurant.

While the date doesn’t go as planned, Verner Panton’s Panthella truly stole the spotlight with its organic shape and warm, glare-free light. Placed on top of a shelf and on a small side table, the Panthella offers an aura of exclusivity, complementing the atmosphere needed for the scene.

Start Up

Whether you were on #TeamGoodBoy and #TeamDoSan, hit show Start-up is sure to inspire you to drive your ambitions forward. In the first few episodes of this series, we are introduced to Sandbox – the ultimate launchpad for aspiring startups and entrepreneurs.

As Seo Dal Mi and Nam Do San team up for Sandbox’s Hackathon, viewers are treated to the elegantly warm glow of the PH 3 1/2 – 2 1/2 Table, perfectly situated at the center of each of the contending groups’ work tables. This glowing centerpiece sets the mood for this high-powered competition thanks to its unique shade system and glare-free light.

True Beauty

Webtoon turned drama series, True Beauty, explores the transformational power of makeup in the life of main character, Im Ju-Kyung. A few episodes in, we meet two potential love interests including the smart yet brooding Lee Su-ho whose sleek bachelor pad features a few of Louis Poulsen’s beloved pieces.

In his music room, we find the Panthella Floor which lends a playful yet captivating focal point to the character’s favorite space. In his bedroom, the luminescent glow of the Panthella 320 Table makes for a great bedside lamp while Poul Hennigsen’s PH 3/2 Table brightens up the study corner.
